Application ProcessCamp Grassick's screening committee selects campers who can benefit the most from its programs, depending on the availability of services and qualified staff. Campers benefit from craft and swimming activities, supervised recreation and professional instruction in the areas of speech and language, activities of daily living, and reading problems. Scheduling of these classes and therapy programs limits camp enrollment to 40-45 campers, depending upon the camping session.Children must be at least 7 years of age and able to adjust to group life. Although many of the children selected for camp will be physically disabled, every child must be ambulatory 50% of the time and be able to take care of most of their own personal needs such as feeding, dressing, toilet, etc. Elks Camp Grassick is not equipped to handle severe behavior difficulties. Rules for acceptance in the program are the same for everyone without regards to race, color, national origin, sex, age or handicap.
