We have had a busy and fun Monday. We are back to our normal routine after the weekend and everyone seemed a little tired today. In Rec today, we played water games like egg toss but with water balloons! Lots of people were a little damp so they must have been hard to catch. In crafts, we did tye dye! It was fun to pick out our patterns and colors. We are looking forward to wearing them soon.
It cooled off a little in the later afternoon and the wind was cool on the waterfront so we did not go swimming. We did our free throw shooting that we didn't get to finish at Special Olympics. After that, we played a game of camper vs. staff basketball. The campers won! We had some awesome shooters - even a couple 3 pointers! And the defense was pretty intense from both sides.
We had a busy evening too. The Mandan Indians came out to visit us. They are a group of Shriners who come out to Camp and show us some traditional Native American dances. They show us how to do them and then we all join in to learn. They were also kind enough to bring us some ice cream treats and make a donation to Camp Grassick. We really appreciate it!
We started our activity early so we had time before bed so we did a quick scavenger hunt and went all over camp looking for "Y" shaped sticks, pine cones, heart shaped rocks and all kinds of other things. Some things were very easy to find and others, like a snake skin, we didn't find (and we were probably glad!)
Cabin 4W has their camp out tonight and I think everyone will sleep well tonight whether they are in their cabins or in a tent!
